ICCI's cause areas are climate, democracy and justice - which are intrinsically interconnected in Brazil. We believe that strategic communications is
a crucial element in advancing these agendas.

Climate

The focus is on addressing the climate crisis, by supporting processes of mitigation and adaptation, with a special focus on protecting the most vulnerable populations and on just transition dynamics, allowing the participation and inclusion of these populations in the design of a low-carbon economy.

Justice

Support for initiatives that promote human rights and social justice, with the goal of creating a more equitable society where everyone has access to opportunities for development and a life of dignity.

Democracy

Efforts aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, ensuring civic participation in democratic processes, expanding political representation and building an information ecosystem that is transparent and free from mis/disinformation.

How we work

ICCI's work embraces an ecosystemic perspective to maximize the impact of its efforts. To that end, we work alongside our grantees, other funders, research institutes, networks, alliances, social movements, private sector, professional associations, and think tanks in shaping our strategies.
