ICCI was present at Climate Week NYC

ICCI was present at the 2024 edition of Climate Week NYC, engaging with global and regional leaders, change agents, scientists and civil society representatives from around the world. We took photos along the way, but what we want to bring here is what really matters: the highlights of the discussions on tackling climate change, with an emphasis on the use of strategic communications as a central tool for fostering positive change.

Some highlights from our experience:

  • We connected with organizations in the strategic communications field from different regions to share experiences, learn about new tools and evaluate transnational collaborations;

  • We planned partnerships to promote climate action through strategic communications with like-minded funders;

  • We participated in various forums discussing how disinformation jeopardizes the integrity of the information ecosystem and poses a serious threat to the climate agenda. In partnership with other organizations, we developed action plans to mitigate this challenge;

  • We participated in coalition meetings to boost mobilization around the G20 and COP 30;

  • We saw Brazil stand out as one of the countries with the potential to lead and increase the ambition of commitments to fight climate change;

  • We talked about ways to reduce Brazil's emissions, with the collaboration of government agents, business leaders and civil society representatives, mainly in the fossil fuel, deforestation and agriculture industries.

It was inspiring to connect, learn and collaborate with people who also view strategic communications as a pivotal resource in advancing the climate agenda.
